This week we created our classroom rules of BE SAFE, BE CLEAN, BE KIND, and DO YOUR BEST! We signed the rules and drew pictures to illustrate the rules. Please continue to reinforce these rules with your child at home! Thank you! We had a great time working in our math notebooks today! The prompt was to create a design with pattern blocks, then draw the design and count the pattern blocks. Look at all those hard working students!

After a few days of Kindergarten, students in room 107 have decided on four rules for our Morning Meeting time. Morning Meeting is an engaging way to start each day, build a strong sense of community, and set children up for success socially and academically. This week we began to think about our Hopes and Dreams for the Kindergarten year. These Hopes and Dreams are displayed in the classroom and we are excited for you to see them on Curriculum night on Thursday! Our Hopes and Dreams are helping us to inform the classroom rules that we have begun to create.
What a wonderful second day in room 107! Here are a few photos from choice time. Friends are working and playing together really well! Have a wonderful weekend!
The first day of school was a HUGE success! We had such an amazing time getting to know each other! We began our day with a morning meeting and are starting to create a wonderful sense of community by learning everyone's names. We read Pete the Cat Rocking in My School Shoes and Pete led us on a clue finding tour around the school! We had our first library time with Ms. Burman. We enjoyed our time on the playground at recess! In math today we learned our calendar routines and did our first math problem in our math journals. We had lunch and another recess. Then we had quiet time and read The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend. We enjoyed some choice time, had a closing meeting and shared our favorite part of the school day.
